Thanks to Sarsen Press we’ve discovered a photo of an earlier mass ride from 1977.
We understand that the earlier ride was organised by Jennifer Rosser, and the photograph was shared with us by Tony Hill, who has run Winchester’s legendary print business for almost 50 years. Coincidentally, Sarsen Press was founded in 1977; the same year the photograph was taken.
It makes an interesting comparison with recent rides: a complete absence of helmets in 1977, but pleasingly recent rides have attracted a larger number of children and families.
