Congratulations to the children and parents of the Oliver’s Battery School Bike Bus, which celebrated its first anniversary on Friday 14 March!
A bike bus is a group of children riding to school together. Over the past 12 months the Oliver’s Battery bus, which is run by a group of parents, has expanded and now includes two routes through Badger Farm and Oliver’s Battery. On the Badger Farm route alone the children have cycled over 72km and climbed more than 1900m. That’s further than a ride from Winchester to Bournemouth and higher than a climb up Mount Ventoux!
The buses run every Friday and up to 20 children (almost 10% of the whole school) take part.
