Chasing the Sun film is coming to Winchester – and Cycle Winchester has a starring role! Join us on Saturday 18th May at The Arc on Jewry Street where there will be two screenings (at 4pm and 7pm) of Chasing The Sun – a new film from 2x BAFTA-winning director Michael B. Clifford. And look out for a host of local cycling champions including Chase The Sun Founder Olly Moore and Cycle Winchester’s very own Emma Street, who helps organise our annual Cycle Winchester Mass Ride, and one of our growing roster of school ‘Bike Buses’.
Cycle Winchester has been closely monitoring the disturbing levels of bike theft in the city, and intervening to try and improve the situation in theft hot spots, notably at the railway station. The latest statistics, showing a reduction in thefts during 2023, provide a crumb of comfort, but overall the situation is far from happy.
John Arthur, our chair, delivered his annual report at our AGM in February, and it’s also published in full here on the website. But we feel it may have flown under the radar, so the purpose of this short article is to shine a light on some of Cycle Winchester’s achievements in 2023.
