We couldn’t have put it better! Today’s Hampshire Chronicle and Southern Daily Echo both have fabulous coverage of our successful mass ride last Saturday, where 300 Winchester cyclists took to the streets to show their support for making Winchester better by bike. We are the cover story in the Chronicle, and there is a double-page photo spread featuring many joyful cyclists; buy the paper to see if you’re in it!
Furthermore, local MP Steve Brine devoted much of his weekly column to the ride, having found time on Saturday in a busy schedule to ride with us on a lap of the city centre: “As someone who cycles whenever I get the chance, and as a Dad of two, it was therefore easy to put my support behind Cycle Winchester which had its launch last weekend.”
With this successful, high-profile activity under our belt Cycle Winchester will continue to lobby for effective cycling routes to be built into the city’s infrastructure, especially as the Winchester Movement Strategy takes shape.
A reminder that you can help us continue the campaign by making a contribution via our donations page.
