We’re back, better and bigger!
We were crestfallen to postpone the planned Mass Ride in September, but we promised you a spring ride, and we are as good as our word.
We are planning a Mass Ride / Kidical Mass for the morning of April 26th. We intend that it will be bigger, better, safer and even more enjoyable.
Mass Ride 7 was such a huge success, with over 400 riders filling the streets with cycle joy, that we were asked to look at ways to reduce potential conflict between motorists and bikes. We are pleased to say we’ve recently gained agreement from the authorities to hold back cars very briefly at key junctions in the city centre, so that the mass of cycles can pass as one ‘sausage’. This won’t be a full road closure – we will still coexist with cars – but we’ll all be part of a bigger protective peloton.
Expect all the same goodness as previous rides: Multiple start locations around the city from around 10:00, converging on the one way system at around 10:30 for a celebratory lap of the city, culminating in a fun gathering at Abbey Gardens from around 11:00. Full details coming soon.
