All are welcome, please read our guidance for riders
The routes are set, our marshal team is briefed and it’s all system go for hopefully the biggest, safest and best ever Cycle Winchester Mass Ride this Saturday morning, 26th April. Please come and join us!
All the start times and locations are posted here on our website.
We’ve published a brief document that helps explain how you can help the ride go smoothly.
Please read our guidance to riders here.In short:
- Stay behind the front marshal. They’ll be setting a gentle pace to keep the group together.
- Stay in front of the back marshal, they are there to make sure no one gets left behind.
- Try not to let gaps open in front of you, so the ride stays as one protective ‘sausage’.
- We have permission to block some junctions, so – if directed by a marshal – please pass through red lights.
- Ride in a single lane through the one-way system (marshals will make clear which lane).
- Marshals will form a protective cordon, but adults remain responsible for the kids in their charge.
- Ideally, slower or younger riders should gather towards the front of feeder rides to ensure a comfortable pace.
- If some get tired or struggle to keep up, it’s fine to leave the ride at Abbey Gardens the first time we pass.
Most of all have fun and enjoy the ride!
Be sure to stay for fun events in Abbey Gardens after the ride, and say hello to the Cycle Winchester team who make this happen, alongside their day job of pushing to make Winchester better by bike.
