Cycle Winchester launches membership scheme with bike shop discounts

As we previously reported, Cycle Winchester has become a fully-fledged association, with a constitution, officers and even a bank account! The goodwill of willing volunteers, much appreciated support from our founding supporters, and generous donations from you when we’ve passed the hat at Mass Rides have all been brilliant. But to ensure we can carry on campaigning, we need a small but regular income. That’s where our membership scheme comes in.

We are asking our supporters to chip in with an annual donation of £5 per year (a little more if you’re able, or free for unwaged people).

Why should I become a member of Cycle Winchester?

It’s a donation. Let’s be frank: we’re asking you do do this to help us continue our campaign. Organising events such as Mass Rides, printing promotional materials, and paying for our affiliation with Cycling UK all cost money. These are not huge amounts, and no-one gets paid for doing this. But we’d be glad to know that we can continue doing what we do without funding worries. You’ll also become a voting member of Cycle Winchester, so you can attend our AGM, vote out the officers if you don’t like what we’re doing, or propose changes to the constitution.

Big discounts at local bike establishments. We are delighted to announce that these local bike shops have kindly agreed to offer discounts to Cycle Winchester members:
