420 participants fill our streets in a joyful celebration of pedal power.
Wow! It’s hard to do justice to the amazing events of Saturday’s Mass Ride & Kidical Mass. The huge turnout. The heart-warming, impromptu bike festival in Abbey Gardens, where happy kids honed their bike skills. The spectacular skaters, entertaining and assisting with traffic control. We’ll endeavour to convert this evident groundswell of support for safer streets into action, as we tackle local authorities and demand improvements.
Groups converged from all around Winchester on the centre, with the Colden Common & Twyford link-up ride being a particular triumph – not just the numbers involved but the community spirit, coffee and bacon sandwiches on offer. Those involved are keen to spread the word. We hope it is a model that will be copied by other areas and groups.
